A few months ago, a good friend of mine met her boyfriend because she simply signed up for a matchmaker’s free database. She was recently single at 32 years old and was determined to find her husband. She took matters into her own hands and signed up for multiple matchmaker databases. She went on a few ‘not so great’ dates and then one fateful night, she was set up with her now boyfriend. He was a kind, attractive finance guy who was her same age and looking for love. He had hired a matchmaker to save time and streamline his search. They met in late October, clicked instantly and are moving in together this Spring.

Many of her friends were shocked to see her go from recently single, to finding her dream guy so quickly. Dating is not linear and joining matchmaking databases is one of many strategies you can implement to supercharge your search for love. Of course there are national matchmaking services you can easily google and join, but I’ve curated a list of white glove boutique matchmakers I know and trust (including the service my friend joined). Matchmakers should never be your whole search, but this is one of many tools I encourage both men and women alike to utilize (especially because joining a database is typically free).

If I were single, I would sign up for all of these databases (most matchmakers cover different geographies, age ranges, cultures, politics and religions)! Matchmaking is extremely individual so I recommend casting a wide net. Remember you do not need to be a paid client for this to work (unless you are worried about time or want your own custom search). Matchmakers are always looking for amazing singles to date their clients so it’s a win win for everyone.
